Mobile Deposit FAQs

Q: How long until my application is approved?

A: It takes 2 days for the approval process.

Q: When will my check be deposited?

A: Checks deposited weekdays before 4p will be deposited before the end of the business day. Checks deposited weekdays after 4p on weekends and holidays will be deposited before the end of the following business day.

Q: How long should I keep my check?

A: You will need to keep your check for 90 days following the confirmation of the deposit.

Q: Why is my mobile deposit funds on hold?

A: Insurance Checks – Large amounts or non-matching funds (10 day hold); may be transferred into savings account for a hold.
Personal Checks – didn’t have matching funds (2-7 day hold).
Payroll Checks – usually not held unless there are unusual circumstances.

Q: How do I find out why I was denied for a mobile deposit?

A: You will receive an email explaining why or you can contact your local branch.

Q: When do I try and reapply to see if I qualify for mobile deposit?

A: Please contact your local branch for review or contact the Call Center at 1.800.825.7661.

Q: How much can I deposit per transaction, day or month?

A: The standard remote deposit limit is $2,000 per transaction, $2,000 per day and $10,000 for every 30 days.

Q: How should I endorse the back of the check?

A: It is very important you endorse the check correctly: 1) Write the account number. 2) Include your signature. 3) Finally – you must write “For Mobile Deposit Only Golden Plains Credit Union” with no abbreviations or the check will be rejected.

Q: Can I deposit money orders?

A: No. We can only accept checks written to the owner(s) of the account. We do not accept money orders, savings bonds, stale dated or post-dated checks or checks written to a 3rd party.

Q: Can I deposit a check written out to two parties both on the account?

A: Yes. Both parties must be account owners and both parties must sign the back of the check.
